Aldo Rossi

 

Aldo Rossi, (1931-1997) was an Italian Architect who achieved international recognition in four distinct areas; Theory, Drawing, Architecture and Product Design.

Frank Gerard Godlewski, who worked in Rossi’s Milan Studio d’Architettura from 1979 through 1987 and curated Rossi’s first NY exhibition at the Max Protetch Gallery, will lecture on Aldo Rossi at TriBeCa’s Salomon Arts Gallery. He will present Rossi’s projects and show a private collection of his historic drawings, photographs by his daughter, Vera Rossi and other important material from this period. Rossi’s works to be exhibited – Teatro del Mondo, Teatrino Scientifico, Cimitero di Modena, Porta della Biennale of Venice, Scuola di Broni and more.

Originally established in 1975 by pioneering TriBeCa artists, filmmaker Rodrigo Salomon, Laura Segal, and artist Alan Shields, Salomon Arts Gallery is a TriBeCa loft atelier that grew organically as a gallery and performance space that represents innovative artworks by established artists in a variety of disciplines including; painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and photography, as well as film, dance, poetry and music. Other pioneering artists, such as Ronnie Landfield, James Rosenquist, Richard Serra, Marisol Escobar, and Edward Albee have been a part of TriBeCa’s artist’s enclave.

Salomon Arts Gallery was re-launched in 2003 by Rodrigo and his wife, Gigi Salomon, an urban planner. The gallery’s mission is to curate and introduce innovative artistic works in a non-conventional setting. They are chosen from a broad spectrum of cultures, specifically selected for their aesthetic integrity as well as their ability to enlighten their viewer.

Salomon Arts Gallery is proud to exhibit in their TriBeCa loft, works by Martin Abrahams, Robert and Lynn Bianchi, El Costell, Elizabeth Gregory Gruen, Brooke Larsen, Andres Martinez, Fernand d’Onofrio and Jay C. Lohmann.
