Artist Statement If I do this, then what happens I strive to get colors, lines and forms to balance each other and give the viewer a visual harmony. I love seeing a hint of a color beneath another. Covering up and exposing can go on through indefinite layers.

I am driven by finding the balance in a painting. The shapes and colors need to work together to give a piece its character, its ability to communicate with the viewer even though it might only be a whisper.

I paint with acrylics on unbleached, untrimmed cotton canvas.

My drawings are abstract, detailed and for the most part I start in he middle of the paper and work outwards, what ever the pattern. Seeing the piece grow is the inspiration, how a mechanical movement becomes an organic figure.
